ENCAUSTO 

La perduta tecnica pittorica dell'Impero Romano è l'Encausto. Gli elementi sono: le buone cere, i colori in polvere e il fuoco. 

I colori vengono mesticati con la cera e poi fissati al support con il calore tramite gli strumenti di metallo detti "Cauteri",

infatti la parola Encausto, in latino Encaustus, significa "fissato a fuoco". 

ENCAUSTIC 

The lost panting of the Roman Empire is Encaustic. The elements are: good wax, colors in powder and fire. 

First, colors are mixed with wax and then fixed on  the support with heat through metal tools called "Cauteri",

indeed, the word "Encaustic, Encaustus in Latin, means "fixed on fire"

AFFRESCO

La tecnica dell'affresco, nota già al tempo dei Greci, consiste nel dipingere su intonaco fresco il soggetto scelto. 

Quando l'intonaco si asciuga, il colore viene  con esso amalgamato, resistendo per moltissimo tempo. 

Per fare i colori, si utilizzavano pietre e minerali di vari colori che venivano frantumati e miscelati tra loro .

FRESCO 

The fresco technique, already known at the time of the Greeks, consists in painting the chosen subject on fresh plaster.

When the plaster dries, the color is amalgamated with it, resisting for a very long time.

To make the colors, stones and minerals of various colors were used which were crushed and mixed together.
